Today, I wanted to tell you all about flowers centers I have been obsessed with. One of the main reasons I went to the Swap meet last week was because I was looking for these flower centers:
I looove that Teal one! hehe in case you didn't know, it's my favorite color! So anyway I was on YouTube and I stumbled upon a tutorial that showed how to make these beautiful pearl flowers that you can turn into flower centers. Here's how mine turned out:
Cute huh?! It was super easy to make and they turn out soooo cute I love them! So of course, I needed more beads so I went to MICHAELS. I know. SHOCKING. LOL. So here's what I picked up:
The red ones were on clearance for 29 cents so I HAD TO get three!! haha.
They are so simple to make and they look super shabby chic:) at least to me..!! For the sides all I used were sting beads that I purchased at Michaels a few weeks ago:
I believe I found them by the ribbon aisle:) I will make a tutorial on how I made these super easy flowers/ flower centers. But I can't take all the credits, I forget who's video I watched but there is a tutorial out there already. I know some of you still like how I explain things so I will make a video for you guys that like my tutorials:)
I wanted to let you guys know that I am working on designing my own website and that this blog MIGHT move to a permanent address. Of course I will let you all know and make a video on it as well as a post on here:) I just want everything to be in one place and look at little cuter and best put together:)
Well you guessed it, I went to MICHAELS. When do I NOT go to Michaels? I am just addicted to them and I feel like I can be in there for HOURS! Well I went out to go to Tj Maxx to hopefully get the Dear Lizzy stamps that I saw on people's videos but I did not find ANYTHING there. agh. So since I was in the area I decided, why not go to Michaels?
So I went to Michaels and discovered their new stamp section. It's BEAUTIFUL. haha. There was sooo many stamps I wanted but I did not get all the ones I want. I feel like there is more coming. Well I know there are more coming because some of the spots were empty! Stamps are definitely my weakness. I just love them! There is so much you can do with stamps!
I stumbled upon these new stamps that I just had to get because I could never find the Dear Lizzy ones that people have been finding at Target:
Aren't those cute?? I love them because they don't have a date on them, just the words:) Which is perfect for project life or any scrapbooking project:) I am so happy that recollection has come up with the "knock off" versions of these stamps. I cannot wait to see what their Prima doll stamps will look like!! I am sooo tempted to go back to Michaels tomorrow and see if they put out some more new stamp sets:) they did have a bunch of new Tim Holtz stuff. I just wanted to buy it all! Jonny ( The hubby ) would kill me if I bought EVERYTHING! haha!
Summer is almost here and that means that NEW things will come out soon!! I didn't do much crafting today since I went to Michaels and had to finish some laundry. agh.
I know this is a short post but I thought I would give you guys the heads up on what is out/coming to Michaels:)
I have been getting a lot of questions about starting a YouTube Channel. I thought it would be nice for me to answer some questions on my blog:)
Do I need a nice camera?
Well for starters you can use your phone (smartphone) or even a point a shoot camera. If you know you're going to be very serious with this I recommend an HD Camera. Any will do:) I got mine YEARS ago at Frys and it was an open box item but I really wanted to have a camera with a view finder. The camera I have is a Canon VIXIA HFR10. It's outdated but hey it's HD and it works:)
Should I show my face or just my hands?
For this I say whatever you are comfortable with. I just showed my face by accident then it stuck. haha. If you look at my earlier videos, I started with showing my hands and like I said by accident I started filming with my face showing and people seemed to like it best haha! But that is really UP TO YOU :)
How do you get followers?
I get asked this question A LOT. And to be honest, just keep doing videos, interact with other YouTubers:) It will come little by little. I used to do makeup videos and I barely had any followers so, when I started my craft channel I wasn't sure how I would do but I stayed true to myself and most of all I HAVE FUN and people see that:)
Do I have to do hauls like you in order to get followers?
Not at all. I just haul a lot because I'm crazy addicted and also because I am still building my inventory since I am still kinda new to this crafting world. You don't have to haul, keep showing your beautiful projects and people will love it:) I will say this again, you have to HAVE FUN and BE YOURSELF:) That's something money can't buy:)
How do you deal with negative/hater comments?
Plain and simple, I just don't:) Sometimes yes, it gets to me and you would not believe what people are able to say behind a computer screen. But I just don't answer because it's not worth my time or yours:) Remember that you are doing this for fun:)
How often should I upload videos?
That really depends on you. I upload everyday because I have time (I'm a stay at home wife :)) and because I love doing it, it's so much fun plus, it helps me connect with my viewers more often:)
Which editing program do you use for your videos?
I use imovie. I love the simplicity of it and they have really cool stuff you can add to your videos. For PC, you can use windows movie maker. I'm not sure how to use that program since I am a Mac and not a PC.
I think I covered questions I get asked the most:) Here is my very first video, I look a mess but hey, it was my first! haha! Now I look at it and I'm like, WHAT WAS I THINKING!? A good reminder that I didn't start my videos perfectly:)
If you've been thinking about making videos, DO IT!! I encourage you 100% it's fun and you get to meet amazing people, i know I have:))
Remember, HAVE FUN & BE YOURSELF every one else is taken:)
You read the title right. I am ADDICTED. Addicted to Heidi Swapp that is! I just love her collection and just how fun and bright her ideas are! She's just a breath of fresh air!! It all started when I saw her display at Michaels. I had never heard of her before but I LOVED everything I saw in the store!! So I started with buying her Shine Sprays, no idea what they did but I bought them anyway. When I got home I looked her up on the internet then my addiction just blew up! I stayed up till 4am watching videos of hers and reading her blog!
When I found out that she will be having her paper pads at Michaels I was obsessed with finding it in my area! and I did! Here is the first project I made with her beautiful paper:
Her Sugar Chic collection is so fun and girly! after making this card ( Which I have not given to anyone only because I HAD TO keep my first Heidi Swapp project!! ). My addiction just grew that I made my own Heidi Swapp, Sugar Chic storage cubes:
Aren't they cute? Now if ONLY she made fabric!! and WASHI TAPE! I would soooo be in love even more!!
Here is a project share that I made with using this paper line of course:)
If you haven't picked up any of her stuff is, YOU NEED TO! btw- I am so not getting paid from this and I don't even think she knows of my existence! hah!
Well, from the title some of you totally know what I am about to talk about and some of you are like, huh?! what the heck is a Rolodex??
I googled it and this is what I got:
ro·lo·dex
/ˈrōləˌdeks/
Noun
A desktop card index used to record names, addresses, and telephone numbers.
I found a couple of them at one of my local thrift store for only 50 cents each! Here's what mine look like at the moment:
At first I wasn't sure what I would with them and with the wonderful world of Pinterest, I just HAD TO get them both. I mean for that price I just couldn't pass them up!! So I plan on doing a few things with them. The number one thing I plan to do is PAINT. Right now they look very... umm.. very 80's haha. There is nothing wrong with the 80's, I LOVE the 80's it's just for crafting 80's isn't what I lean towards haha! I cleaned them up real good today and when I am finally done with them I will for sure post a picture of the finished product!
Yesterday really wore me out but didn't stop Jonny and I to go to Michaels and score MORE penny items! I will make a video on how I find out what's a penny which isn't any special way of finding things out haha! I'm not THAT special, at least I don't think so.
I look forward to Mondays because that is when I can sleep in and relax a lil bit. I don't plan on going out to Michaels, at least for now lol! Well that's only if their daily deal isn't good! Now if it's 60% off Martha Stewart items you know I'm there!! But what are the odds you know?
This weekend has been fun and exciting but oh boy am I tired! I filmed 2 videos + my daily vlog and I just hope they come out okay. haha! I love doing it and it doesn't feel like a job!! I have many things planned for the future and I really hope to share them with you soon!
I don't have a funny picture tonight but I do want to leave you with a lil something my dad always used to say: " Feel like a Dime surrounded by Nickels". I always try to remember that when I am feeling down. You should always make yourself one the priorities in your life:) So whenever you feel down, remember that you're a Dime and not a Nickel;)
We went to the Swap Meet today and to a few different thrift store with my mom! It was a ton of fun but boy I am POOPED! haha! I still wanted to come on here and give you my readers some love:)
I know you guys can't get enough of those penny deals and are probably curious on what I got! Here are my two videos on them:)
I do have some advice for you guys, once you know about those deals you gotta RUN. LOL. If you haven't watched the second video yet, I was tardy for the party! I waited till the next day to grab some things and I HELLA missed out! haha. My hubby always says "the early birds catches the worm".
So when you know about deal go as soon as you can! That is why the reason why I go to Michaels on Sunday is to take advantage of the new weekly sale or, I go the day they get their shipment (this varies from store to store but I'm sure if you ask a team member they can tell you when their shipment comes in).
That's my little piece of advice for the day! Sorry today is a short one but I will be sure to post more for tomorrow:))
Did you know that MAY is National Scrapbooking month? I didn't haha. I am new to this whole crafting/scrapbooking world. Because of this, Michaels has come out with a coupon book for us here in the US of A. Not sure if this will be available in Canada so check your stores either way!!
So today, I wanted to share with you a coupon that I was able to get from Michaels:) they were right at the register and they look like this:
So if you are at Michaels or are planning to go make sure that you pick one of these up! I had gotten an email on Monday and the email did say that they would have limited quantities:/ I'm not sure if that's really the truth because we all know that Michaels always has an overflow of coupons! haha! I know some of you are dyeing to find out what coupons are inside!
Every week the coupons are different but here they go:)
MAY 5-11
MAY 12-18
MAY 18-25
MAY 26 - JUNE 1st
I wish they had these coupon book every month!! If you haven't picked this up already, make sure you do! I also wanted to remind you guys of what will be on sale next week at Michaels. Here's my video:
I hope you had a wonderful friday! I will be going to a swap meet tomorrow I am SO EXCITED to share what I find! I haven't been to one in YEARS so that should be fun!! We will be going early in the morning to avoid the crowds and much better weather. Sometimes being in a wheelchair is hard when there is a lot of people because I don't get to see what I want to see or I can't just go behind people:/ agh. Story of my life! Let me end this with something funny:)
Since I have been shopping a LOT at Michaels lately I thought this was fitting! If you like my page on Facebook you probably have seen this already:
I have been getting a LOT of questions since I posted THIS picture on both my Facebook and Instagram:
I used a cut from the silhouette store for my Cameo called 5-petal flowers by Lori Whitlock:
Design ID #17648
I filmed a tutorial and the video on these particular flowers is uploading as I type:) now if you DON'T have a CAMEO, NO BIGGIE. I also used punches that I show in the tutorial:
all the supplies I used to make these flowers are from Michaels:) I love this flower punch I have made several flowers with it and that is probably my most favorite punch!! It's $9.99 regular price but I believe I got it when it was on sale and was able to add ANOTHER coupon on top of it:)
Here's the tutorial:
I also went to Michaels today to pick up an extra one of these punches to giveaway to one of you VERY SOON! Along with the flower punch, I scored MORE penny items, 16 to be exact! here's a sneak peek:
I was sooooo excited to find all these goodies and I will be going to other Michaels tomorrow to see what I can find! I can't wait to share with you all what I get! btw- I did film a haul video and it should be up tomorrow so no worries:)))
I have been buying a lot of punches lately I have NO IDEA why, I think Martha Stewart has brainwashed me to want to buy ALL her punches!! agh. So here we go I have been buying them SLOWLY but SURELY. I still have to get my Tim Holtz Paper pads tomorrow before the sale is over!!
There is a punch I have been looking for and maybe some of you might know where I can find it! It's a retired stampin' up punch. It's the TAB punch, i can't find it ANYWHERE so if any of you have an extra one or would like to sell it, I'm your girl!!
Anyway, I get such a rush getting penny items almost like getting penny items should be illegal but hey, if it says a penny at the register, it's a penny!
I feel like I should end my posts with something funny, here's one for tonight:
I laugh every time I see it! Gotta love Lionel Richie lol!
Goodness, is it me or this year is FLYING?! I am turning 30 this year in July and I am dreading it big time. agh. I know it's still young and I have so much more to see:)
ANYWAY, on to the crafty things:) I went to Michaels today because I knew they were going to have Penny deals. YES. PENNY DEALS. So here's how I know when those deals are around.
1. people post videos on what they got for a penny at Michaels
2.When you hear about Michaels selling $2 grab bags, the items inside those bags are most likely a penny.
3. I get ALL my info on penny items on YouTube
So I went to one Michaels and there was NOTHING. I mean NOTHING for a penny I was pretty bummed:( But THEN!! I decided to go to the one by my house (Which I dont always like to go to because they tend to give me a hard time from time to time)
So I was going around MY Michaels, lookin' through the aisle and I was about to leave almost empty handed and there it was. The heavens parted and this called my name:
It looks beat up I know but omg, i found a MARTHA STEWART punch for a PENNY. I was so excited! So I roll to the register and of course I get my favorite cashier ( No, not really, she always gives me a hard time ). She rings it up and was like " it's a penny, do you want it?" and I say " Hell ya!!" haha. That is the FIRST time she did not give me a hard time on giving me a penny item! I rolled out of there so quick ( for you all that might not know this, I am in a wheelchair ) I was so scared she would go after me and tell me I had to give it back!!
So yes, I got ONE item for a penny but it's a GOOD ONE! I hope your day was just as good as mine:) I have a few projects to finish then work on my social media stuff.
I LOVE doing all this social media stuff and now I wonder what took me so long! I am so grateful to be able to share my passion of crafting with you all:)
Here's the latest haul video I posted today on my YouTube Channel:
I am pretty early today with posting in both my BLOG and my VLOG. Have I already said I love doing this? In case I didn't, I LOVE IT!
Oh- I HAD TO SHARE this next picture. Some of you might get it. Some of you might NOT. This had me laughing out loud for at least 10 minutes last night! enjoy!
